“The stories of my body lie buried in my bones
waiting for the pull of muscle and sinew
and the tickle of a deep, deep breath
to float them to the surface of my skin.” (Rae Johnson)
Picasso once said he spent his whole life learning to see like a child again. We have always been delighted to hear how playful participants find Drawn to Danceworkshops. In this one-day, on-line workshop we will be combining dance, creating paper cut-outs, painting onto body parts (using as much or as little of your body as you choose) and sharing.
Join us for a day of playful, embodied creativity that may be a refreshing change from what you usually associate with screen time. You will receive a package in the post with art materials and be asked to supplement this with one or two other things you already have at home.
No previous experience in art or conscious dance necessary, but if you have done either before, it will add to the experience. Much of the creative work can be done away from the screen, but still connected via zoom and is do-able on a domestic table/floor. There will be plenty of breaks (with 2 hours for lunch)
