Drawn to Dance – Land Marks as part of Art Walk Porty 2019
Starting with a walk on Portobello beach, to collect natural landmarks, we will explore ways to use these as a starting point to create individual and collective dance-drawings, working in Bellfield Community Centre with dance, charcoal and chalks. We will explore ways the inner and outer landscape of the body meets the landscape of the natural world and how marks “land” when we draw in an embodied way.
Open to all. No previous drawing or dance experience required. Conscious dance has no steps. Through the dance we connect to an inner space of mystery and creativity. We will explore a process-based approach to drawing that is equally accessible to those with or without previous drawing experience.

“It’s inspiring, exciting and fun, a great way to get the creative juices flowing. Totally non-judgemental about anyone’s individual “artistic talent” and fully focused on accessing, sharing and playing with the creativity in all of us. The teachers are experienced and professional and hold the group expertly.” Beth
“It has a much broader impact than just your dancing or drawing – in many ways it’s one big metaphor for the creative process, or even for life itself.” Nick
